Virtual Riot - Stealing Fire | Album Review

10/18 = Virtual Riot -  Stealing Fire   - VIRTUAL RIOT IS FINALLY HERE AFTER 3 YEARS OMG... A HUGE RECORD and I was so ready to listen to 16 tracks where 13 of these are new. I can't lie I've definitely been missing Virtual Riot these past 2 years with his lack of releases. But it all was worth it because we have the follow up album of Simulation in  Stealing Fire  released on Monstercat WHICH IS HUGE, this was a big release and will likely define this 2024 EDM era. One of my favorite artists releasing a new album on my favorite label!!  - First things first Virtual Riot continues to blow my mind. The first-listen through was so crazy because the transitions and progressions are so unpredictable and the sound design is just so incredible, this was some insane work.   - Virtual Riot polishes a modernized bass house tone here, lots of bass house, drumstep, midtempo, dubstep. Not much of future bass, color bass, progressive house. My favorite side of Virtual Riot is his melodic du

SMILE :D World Tour - Bay Area

Wow what a crazy, long day with what feels like an endless amount of substance to talk about. I'm writing this like the day after and im prob not even gonna post until like 3 days after because theres so much to talk about im def gonna forget some details so imma have to like add them in when i remember them but anyway let's first contextualize everything. My Porter Robinson Story So I discovered Porter Robinson through the iconic "Shelter" in 7th grade. I still remember just those moments blasting those choruses in my room, like i remember it so distinctly. I also remember discovering it in my discover weekly, i remember just seeing the covert art too like something about the cover art i cant quite remember but i have such a nostalgic attachment to it. I also remember my friend Oscar playing it on his alto sax during band class for our like ensemble performance things every semester and like I instantly recognized it and me and him bonded over Porter.  Shelter is u

SF Zedd Telos Tour

Hello everyone I have just came back from the Zedd Telos Tour, my first rave ever and my first concert in like a long time. My friend is a huge Zedd glazer and so the story goes that there was an instagram ad for the updated thursday date and i sent it to my friend and he literally like bought two tickets after exchanging texts for like 2 minutes lmao ig he really wanted to go.  But anyway, this was quite an experience. I had a huge Zedd era about like in 2021 and it's been on and off since. With the release of his new album Telos  which I gave a 9/10 on my  August new EDM post , Zedd has reached a new height for me. After attending this concert of just pure Zedd tracks, throwbacks, remixes, and flips, Zedd has such a signature sound that's just so uniquely Zedd. Characterized by punchy digital runs and flashy synth pads and overall just a sound design that leans rather traditional but effective. There's also a great amount of drum fills, pauses, and pacing in Zedd drops,
