flying to ohio to watch basketball

Image
yes i am flying to ohio to watch the cavs 1st round playoff game. game 1 against the raptors. opening playoff game of this season. the idea came to mind really just me wanting to go on trips before i graduate and begin working for the rest of my life, and ive always wanted to see a cavs game in cleveland before and visit the basketball motherland and its a crazy idea and concept but honestly at the same time a great one too. Since the economy in ohio is quite cheaper than in california the getin price is literally like $40 and we got good seats for $160 in this playoff game. I'm going with 2 of my highschool basketball friends, one of whom is coming from UC Davis and flying with me from SFO, the other is flying from southern california and meeting us in Cleveland. Thursday, Apr 16 This is like the day 0. I drove home from Santa Cruz at around like 1 PM and got home and did some homework. Then the flight is at 10:40 PM so my friend Ashwin's dad picked us up and drove us to SFO...

2024-25 NBA Season

Image
This blog started off as a big basketball blog, hence the name cavs4tw. I used to post like random stuff about cavs games that I watched or playoff games and stuff. But lately I've been posting less basketball stuff, as this season I haven't even posted anything about NBA actually.  But I think it's necessary to write a post about this NBA season as it was pretty memorable and just to reflect over my cavs because I still have been following and watching NBA a lot. I tweet about it a lot actually. But anyway my cavs will win the NBA championship no doubt, this was honestly our season to win it but we frauded out so bad man I'll get into it but well win the chip so thats whats motivating me to write this post. What a memorable season. We started off 15-0 under our new headcoach, and also fresh off playoff heartbreak. Things were clicking and I saw our success coming because our previous head coach bickerstaff was a terrorist he was a big reason why we did bad in the play...

2024 NBA Playoffs pt. 1 | heading into wcf/ecf

Image
The NBA Playoffs are back and we have finished 2 rounds to end up with a final four teams: Mavericks, Timberwolves, Celtics, and Pacers.  Now before we get into everything we just gotta address the clown among these teams that is the Pacers because WOW lol even though I wanted them to beat the Knicks, this run is such a fluke, it reminds me of Trae Young and the Hawks making ecf in like 2021 or something. Pacers just playing against hospital teams and almost lost. Here's my predictions to share out that I made before the playoffs and playin started. You can see I got the west playin spots right but mixed up the east playin spots so whatever.  Ok anyway here I will run down each playoff series that's happened so far, giving a nice preview heading into the wcf and ecf, where I will make my predictions on who makes the finals and who wins the championship. First Round: West Thunder Pelicans Didn't watch this series like at all, I think I watched part of game 1. Pelicans got...

2022 NBA All-Star weekend

Pretty exciting All-Star weekend! This one was held in Cleveland. I remember in 2019 or something that Cleveland woudl host in 2022 and idk why but I never forgot about it. The time has finally come. Skills Challenge The Cavs team won by a landslide, deservingly so. I'm so happy for that squad, especially Evan Mobley SHINING WITH THAT FIRST TRY HALF COURT SHOT TO SECURE THE DUB. Their opponents were both pretty trash. The rookies kept missing and the cavs were just overall better on paper too. You love to see it. Three Point Contest  - I really wish CJ Mccolum made his last shot which woudlve given him 21 pts and maybe to the final round. I thought that he had solid contention but wahtever  - I didn't expect THAT type of performance from KAT or Luke Kennard in the first round, especially KAT. And then when KAT popped off with the 29 pts in the final round, it was insane. He absolutely popped off in the first half of the shots, and was solid in the second half. Trae Youn...

12-15-21 NBA ACTION

I haven't been watching much NBA lately but I have been keeping up with just the general news/highlights on twitter.  However, today was just a crazy day. Yesterday Stephen Curry broke the ALL-TIME NBA 3-point record count. That guy is just insane and somehow he gets better every year. Without him the Warriors would be such a poverty team lol. ISAIAH THOMAS G-LEAGUE DEBUT - After bouncing around numerous teams after his back injury and getting traded from the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas has been fighting for a chance back on the NBA lights for the past like two years. He made a big step today scoring 42 pts, 8 ast, 6 rb with 53% fg. Although he kind of ruined the Cavs, I will always remember watching his debut for the cavs after a long-awaited return from his injury. He sunk a three and I started screaming "isaiah! isaiah!"  highlights His G-league teammate Lance Stephenson(NBA vet) scored a triple double too. OVERTIME THRILLER IN DALLAS  - SO MANY THINGS TO TALK ABOUT....

The Best All-star weekend ever.

Image
For me obviously it was, but historically I feel like this has to be the best. FRIDAY: All-star Celebrity game. Not a really close game but it featured Steven A. Smith receiving the first ever technical in a celebrity game which I just gotta admit is really funny. Rising-stars game. A blowout by team USA but the half court buzzer beater from LUka Doncic was a real highlight and Zion Williamson bent the rim. It was a pretty solid game. SATURDAY: I love All-star Saturday. Skills challenge. The bigger player won every single round :O.  Sorry for photo quality. Last year Jayson Tatum sunk a half court to win it. That shot was really crazy. But this year the finals was Bam Adebayo and Domantas Sabonis. It went head to head on the three point shot but Bam eventually made it and turns out that if he missed it Sabonis would've own as he made his three right after Bam sunk his. Very entertaining skills challenge. NOW THIS IS WHEN IT GETS FUN. 3...
