WE GOT TRADES. YAY TRADES

TRADE DEADLINE IS OFFICIALLY OVER.

Let's seem em.

Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Trey Burk traded to the Mavericks for Dennis Smith Jr., Wesley Matthews, DeAndre Jordan, and first round picks in 2021 and 2023
Kristaps Porzingis and Luka Doncic will be phenomenal, as these two are both exciting players and can create their own shots. The Knicks got a good deal on themselves and are building more and more young players.

Anthony Davis stays on the Pelicans
As soon as Anthony Davis requested a trade, the Lakers went all in with deals, including one with Ingram, Kuzma, Ball, Zubac, picks, beasley, and rondo. But NOPE.

The Pelicans will keep Anthony Davis for probably the offseason on a trade with the celtics possibly.
But will the Pelicans even play Anthony Davis? They are officially tanking, and if Davis gets hurt then that will look really bad. I'd say sometimes. not all, but sometimes.

Jonathon Simmons and a Cleveland 2nd Round pick for Markelle Fultz
Markelle Fultz, formerly the #1 pick, has hired a shoulder specialist to help get his shot back up, as he came back with a weird form after getting a nasty injury in the summer league. The Sixers were looking to part ways, and trading him for a solid role player is decent. It's also good for the Magic because they need that type of guy, and have a decent perimeter player development.

Mike Conley stays in Memphis
Mike Conley was thought to get traded to the Raptors, but Conley well end this season just like every other in his career. It gives them a decent chance to go to the playoffs with the new guys on their team, as Conley's playmaking can pair well with Valacuinas, and others.

Mike Muscala traded for Ivaca Zubac and Michael Beasley
Gotta admit, I feel bad for Zubac, since he loved the team. However, he won't have to buy a new house since he was traded to the Clippers. Muscala is a type of player the Lakers need, and is an upgrade from KCP, someone I thought the Lakers would trade away. He's a great shooter, and is similar to Kyle Korver, someone that played really well with LeBron James.

Clippers and Sixers have agreed to trade Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, Mike Scott for Landry Shamet, Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, 2020 first-rounder, 2021 unprotected 1st via Miami and two second rounders.
The Sixers adding Tobias Harris to their new lineup of PG-Ben Simmons, SG-JJ Redick, SF-Jimmy Butler, PF-Tobias Harris, and C-Joel Embiid is incredible. Ben Simmons will fit in wonderfully with the great shooter Harris, who can also post and drive. The Sixers will now have four potential all stars with this new lineup, along with JJ Redick. It's just an incredible lineup that you can't even think deeper about. Giving up all those picks and all are nothing, as the only recognized name is Wilson Chandler, who is currently injured. The Sixers will also have a nice bench along with this death lineup, as they get the newly acquired and tallest player in the league currently Boban Marjanovic. Along with that is also McConnel, Jonathon Simmons, and Mike Scott. I see a lot of talent in the new 76ers roster, and I believe that they can make it to the Eastern Finals this year, facing most likely the Toronto Raptors or Bucks.

Jonas Valanciunas, Delon Wright, CJ Milles and a 2024 second-round pick is traded to the the Grizzlies for Marc Gasol
The Raptors claiming Marc Gasol is going to be great. They will potentially have three all stars on their team, and the Raptors will now have another play style. Siiakam could come off the bench, letting Kyle Lowry playmake and give it to Leonard who can drill any type of mid-range, or to Gasol, who can run a pick and roll with Lowry or play with the baseline post. They sure offered a lot, but was definitely worth it.

The Clippers are trading guard Avery Bradly to the Memphis Grizzlies for Garrett Temple and JaMychal Green.
I think that a better trade can be made out of this if you were the Clippers, because dealing out a solid role player for player I have no recognition to is not good. Although it does free up salary cap space, the Clippers could have asked for a pick or something.

Pistons agree to trade Stanley Johnson to Bucks for Thon Maker
A great trade for the Pistons, as they gain a young player with potential to be a star. Stanley Johnson uhhh. we'll see about that lol

Bucks will send Jason Smith and Stanley Johnson to Pelicans for Mirotic
The Bucks have basically sent a garbage time player and Thon Maker for MIROTIC. Incredible trade for the Bucks, as Mirotic is great at threes. Giannis now has another player to kick it out to when he draws attention on a drive, and the Bucks are now more of a Finals contendor. The Bucks, Raptors, and Sixers have all made magnificent deals, and there can only be one spot in the Finals.

The Rockets sent guard Brandon Knight, forward Marquese Chriss, a 2019 lottery-protected first-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick to the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers, who announced the trade on Thursday, sent guard Alec Burks to the Kings and guards Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin and a 2021 second-round pick (via Milwaukee) to the Rockets. The Kings will also get the Rockets' 2020 second-round pick.
A three team trade that can be simplified like this.

KINGS GET:
Alec Burks
2020 second-round pick

ROCKETS GET:
Iman Shumpert
Nike Stauskas
Wade Baldwin
2021 second-round pick

CAVALIERS GET:
Brandon Knight
Marquese Chriss
2019 first round pick
2022 second round pick

The Kings gain Alec Burks who has been the leader on the Cavs during his time in my opinion. It's sad to watch him go, but that's how tanking works. The cavs got a first round pick which is something they always like, and a couple of decent players. They're tanking.

The Rockets got Iman Shumpert, who is an improved version of Ariza. He's great at defending and can shoot threes. Iman has been known to hold great chemistry changes, and has made the Rockets improved.

The Kings are trading Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph to the Mavericks for Harrison Barnes.
The Kings gaining Harrison Barnes, a great scoring option, will make their chances of making it to the postseason better. With this type of player, he can fit well with Fox and Alec Burks, and I'm excited to watch the Kings in the future. IMO this was a trash deal for the Mavericks, as Justin Jackson is not really useful in this type of style and Randolph is a veteran that will probably be waived or something.

Here are some notable trades. I stole this image from a YouTube video.

  1. Don't know much about bball, but seems like a good idea to try and utilize young players with potential through trades.
