Why I play the French Horn.

My French Horn Story

It all started with my sister. My amazing sister was the one who told me to switch to French Horn in sixth grade. She told me that back in fifth grade. I remember her showing me videos of the French Horn on YouTube. It sounded super pretty and I liked it.
Ok. This isn't that much of a "french horn" story, so yea. I started off trumpet in fifth grade. In fifth grade, I HATED trumpet. I could barely play a note and during each band class all I would do was mess around with Faheem since he didn't like playing trumpet either. Ever time we would play a song, I would fake play. If you don't know what fake play means, it basically means you hold the trumpet like you usually do. Now all you do is finger. You don't buzz or anything. All you do was finger and make it look like you were playing. Every year we would have a concert. I was screwed. Now this was what the fifthgradeband ratio of instruments was.

20 TRUMPETS
10 trombones
10 saxaphones
30 clarinets
15 flutes
2 percussionist

Yup. Just imagine that ratio playing a song. Absolute disgust.

Anyway, when Mr. Borris announced that we would have a concert in a month, I was like "OH SHOOT. I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO BUZZ" But I had an opposing opinion. "DUDE ITS A MONTH. I CAN SURE LEARN". And Day after Day I would think. "Oh, ill learn how to buzz tomorrow". I would think that until a week before the concert. Now here is when I actually started to get stressed out. I was like "OH SHOOT". I practiced for I'd say 10 minutes trying to buzz, and then I got bored. I went like, "Oh, I'll take a break". And what I actually did was put away my instrument. xD. I ended up fake playing AT THE CONCERT. Oh yeah. At the concert. I ended up not getting noticed at all. Lol.
And then came middle school. I thought "oh shoot, I can't fake play once a day!"(band class was once a week in elementary school) But I tried to see how far I could get xD. I fake played every day until Mr. Perazzo made an announcement. An announcement that was deadly to me.

"Hello, kids! We will be having a playing test a week from now! We will be playing the Bb scale! Note that everyone would be playing individually in front of the class!"
And here comes those two words.
"oh"
"shooooot"
I felt screwed for life. I brought my trumpet home and played straight for 3 HOURS. NO JOKE. Where I actually learned how to buzz! So basically after ten minutes, I felt like what I felt a year ago. I felt like taking a "break". But I decided not to get embarrassed in front of the entire class. I practiced and practiced. At around 30 minutes, I was like "hey! This is actually pretty fun!" And I did great. I ended up getting an A on a plane test, and that removed all of my stress about band. I finally knew the concept of buzzing. After a while, Mr. Perazzo announced that there was free spots for French Horns. You know what I did......
