SACCubing XIV recap!

Image
This past weekend on Saturday I went to Sacramento for my second-ever SAC competition. Last time I went was in March 2022,  https://cavs4tw.blogspot.com/2022/03/sac-cubing-xi-recap-first-place-in-skewb.html . I got my first ever podium and first ever gold medal. First comp after 2.5 years due to covid. So the past competition, here are  my results . I participated in 4 events. Here's how they went. 3x3 My first event of the day was 3x3, it was pretty solid.  I got a new offical average PB. Fairly consistent. But then here was 2nd round.... Okay so first of all... I started things off with a 10.01 SINGLE LIKE WHAT?? IM REALLY HAPPY, BUT HOW IS IT THAT CLOSE TO A SUB-10. It's so like ironic and poetic and it feels so fake to just get a 10.01 like that. I'll take it tho... but like... really??? So I started the average with that BOMB. My previous best official single was 10.66. So then I follow that up with a 14 sec, I was really nervous for absolutely no reason, but I clutche

Senior Ball Class of 2023

Image
Alright, here's a blog post about my senior ball.  So ours was May 6th, between AP exam weeks, in the SF City Hall. It didn't really register to me that we were going there until the day actually came. I was like "WOW, SF City Hall!!" That's pretty cool, to say that I've been in the SF City Hall. I've walked by it many times coming out of the bart station nearby, and that whole building and the plaza surrounding it is so iconic. The trees with the lights and the flags man. So that was gonna be really hype!! Here's all the photos I took that aren't cringe lmao: https://photos.app.goo.gl/WySNa7vRTZwwrNjN9 SO yeah, explore those videos and the views I captured.  We took photos with our friend group at kottinger community park, just some random park. I always kinda loathe taking photos, its so annoying, its just a guy thing lol, its not that big of a deal. WE SPENT LIKE 1 HOUR in line getting food. AT LEAST. The problem was that the line was moving s

PPIE Run for Education 2023

Image
Hi! So on April 30th I did the PPIE run, as I mentioned in my recent "remembering my back pain" post. The previous  time I did PPIE run was literally April 2019, so it's been some time. COVID was the main reason. I didn't take many photos, but I thought that this post was still worth writing, even it would be short. I haven't run 10k in A WHILE, like 1+ years because of my back injury. A week prior to the run, I ran 4 miles at avhs track to train for this, and it def was needed. My legs weren't that sore, but it gave me a good sense of security that nothing would happen when I suddenly run 6 miles.  Josh and Timothy also were here, and they also both did 10k. It was a really fun experiencing, my run was pretty well as it was like 8:30 per mile pace. I stopped early beacuse I thought the finish line was the start line that we started in, but it was literally a bit farther out form there -_- so i burned like 90 seconds walking as I thought I'd completed the

What it means.

It's been 1 year. May 1st, 2022, I went to fitness 19 with my dad and deadlifted, dunno what happened, my dad coached me, but to put things into perspective, that was the ignition to a dark wave in my life. This will be a reflective blog post. From a lens of someone who just ran a 10k at PPIE yesterday smiling, from a lens of someone who goes to the park for 3-5 hours on Saturdays. I lie down underneath the trees at orloff park and reflect sometimes too, but here I will lay out all my emotions formally. The deadlifting wasn't the reason, my back ended up getting infected with a rare disease for someone of my age, called "discitis." Basically the disc in my back was inflammed for whatever reason, from bacteria getting there. This could low immune system or the bacteria seeping in somehow through eczema or other things. It is TRULY a mystery that I will never know. My back really hurt like the day after I deadlifted, but there is no way there is a connection between my
