TOP 5 ARTISTS, 2021!!!

2018 version It's been 3 years! Glad to see I still love EDM. Let's see how my taste evolved... I just want to say I wish I could include everyone here: Glacier, Grant, Ellis, Axol, Elephante, Tritonal, Daft Punk, Culture Code, Retrovision, Elektronomia, Porter Robinson, San Holo, Hyper Potions, Zedd, Halvorsen, Diamond Eyes, MDK Those artists right there basically encompass my entire EDM taste. Outside of EDM is a whole different subject. FULL OF TALENT. NCS has progressed a lot into glitch hop and progressive house ever since and Virtual Riot introduced me to the world of melodic dubstep. The complexity within straight growls and transformations in the drops, finalized by beautiful, powerful, fulfilling chords. There's so much creativity in melodic dubstep.  Here are my top 5 favorite artists currently and the songs from them that I thoroughly enjoy. I offer more analysis as I get closer and closer to my favorite. 5. Stessie Bloom Atmosphere Candy Heart - BLOOD CODE Fre

12-15-21 NBA ACTION

I haven't been watching much NBA lately but I have been keeping up with just the general news/highlights on twitter.  However, today was just a crazy day. Yesterday Stephen Curry broke the ALL-TIME NBA 3-point record count. That guy is just insane and somehow he gets better every year. Without him the Warriors would be such a poverty team lol. ISAIAH THOMAS G-LEAGUE DEBUT - After bouncing around numerous teams after his back injury and getting traded from the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas has been fighting for a chance back on the NBA lights for the past like two years. He made a big step today scoring 42 pts, 8 ast, 6 rb with 53% fg. Although he kind of ruined the Cavs, I will always remember watching his debut for the cavs after a long-awaited return from his injury. He sunk a three and I started screaming "isaiah! isaiah!"  highlights His G-league teammate Lance Stephenson(NBA vet) scored a triple double too. band update

I just got rejected from NCBA. I honestly knew this would happen as I didn't start recording until like 4 days before the deadline. After I submitted all my recordings, I thought I did pretty well honestly. I thought I had a solid chance but I had that doubt inside. Well turns out the doubt was right.  I never really practiced horn that much. I take it home like twice a week. I have lessons biweekly. During wind auditions, I'm motivated to practice daily consistently.  Other than the sad news, let's talk about YPSO. I wanted to make a post about this a while ago but I felt that I didn't belong. I'll explain. YPSO is a youth orchestra. I've always wanted to join one of them because it's pretty cool. YPSO is also pretty like high-quality. AKA it's a semi-serious band. So when I auditioned (around like two months ago?), it was already two weeks into the season. They were on a shortage of horns (there was only 1 horn player and they need 5). So basically I

Update on the random posts thing

So this Sunday I went to the library and it took me like 2 hours around to finish it. I definitely learned a lot about APIs and just basic like programming lm*o. But yea, I created a program that utilizes the blogger API to generate an array of URLs for every blog post. I cannot leak that program because the source code contains my blogID and userID. Confidential information.  However, I can convert the array itself into a txt file and just do it that way. It won't update everytime but on the other hand the array doesn't need to be filled everytime you run something.  So yea repl isn't going to be final product ofc. During winter break I'm going to try to get it into a website so that you can't see the source code. Hopefully my sister helps me with that. I'm pretty excited, I've had this idea in my mind quite literally since I started this blog. San Holo - bb u ok? // album review

Image
So San Holo released a new album on June 7th, and it's taken me 5 months to find out... I used to loop his music so much in 2018-2019, from Light to We Rise to brighter days, to Fly to lift me from the ground. He's incredible at vocal production and melodies. His music is very upbeat, and I'm SUPER excited to check this album out.  I still remember being at the gym and hearing Light. The vocals and melody absolutely blew me away and stopped me. I didn't have time to shazam it... Then I hear it again a week later. I make no time to open up predownloaded shazam, and I see Light by San Holo. Then at home I search him up and this is where my love for San Holo started. 20 tracks. i am thinking of you  - The 90 second intro to the track. Just a beautiful sensation that I would love to enjoy on a long carride. The resolution after these lifts are BEAUTIFUL. THE RESOLUTION IS SO AMAZING, ITS THE SATISFACTION EVERYONE NEEDS. Man. And it transitions to the next track, which is:

Blog Updates (12-11-21)

Image
After I returned to this blog like two months ago, there are some outdated things.  One thing is that I have pages on this blog: I turned FAQs and About me into drafts. I felt like as I've grown, those pages were foolish lol.  I'm going to probably take out my pinned post, "Is this my story?" too. The details in that post are also outdated.  So rip :( I do have good news. I've always wanted to make a program that can output a random post from this blog. It's possible to just put every single blog post URL in an array and do random.choice(), but then I need to add a URL to that array everytime I make a new post, and initially getting those 430+ posts is very annoying. Instead I'm looking into beautifulsoup. I could finish this "project" as soon as this weekend. It could also be tricky. Who knows.  Lyric(s) of the Post:  Look here I don't ask for much You know what I want Fly As Me - Silk Sonic

Spotify Wrapped 2021

Image
Was really excited when it came out. It comes out every Dec. 1st, and this time they had a lot more stats. I remember back when there were like 4 slides and that would be all. They also seemed to adopt the trend of instagram story formatting to present it, which I believe was stolen from a Spotify employee. Corporations love to abuse ideas without giving credit :( I was very surprised that there wasn't a NIVIRO song on here. Either Fast Lane or Dancin. After checking, I'm pretty sure Fast Lane was #6. I didn't know I listened to Kuyenda and Here Right now that much.  But Thunderstruck and Make Me Move are too easy. They've been in my top 3 songs for like 3 years in a row. They will likely be in my top 3 next year too. I will never get sick of it. I'm pulling this up whenever someone says I only listen to dubstep. People generalize EDM into dubstep too much. Just look at this. Not sure what this means without any reference. What's the average amount of genres?
