Mill Valley BASC 31B Recap

So last weekend (4/24) I went to another comp where I did 3x3, 2x2, and skewb. I was SUPER excited for 3x3 because of the  breakthroughs  and I absolutely DELIVERED with a 16.78 ao5 in the first round. I have a video with commentary and footage of all of the solves(except for one skewb solve in which I forgot to hit record).  For skewb, I racked up an official PB of 4.17 average and 2.69 single. Very satisfactory performance for skewb I would say. There wasn't a goals and mains post because I felt it was pretty unnecessary for this competition as the only thing that changed is the celeritas 3x3.  video recap Lyric(s) of the Post:  One way, side lane My head is spinning from the company Going insane The voices shouting that they're here to stay Headspace - Similar Outskirts

First school detention!!

Image
It all started on Thursday. I was in my 1st period AP Lang class with a teacher called Mr. Benbenek. We were doing state testing, whihc I don't really care about. The school gave everyone in the school a chromebook during our freshmen year for us to return when we graduate. So we all had to bring those chromebooks to school during testing. Anyway, I was on like quesiton 7 or something for science and I accidentally click something on my chromebook mousepad and the entire testing application just zooms in. I can't see half of the problem statement and zooming out doesn't do anything. Like, I tried doing [ctrl] + [-] or [ctrl] + [shift] + [alt] + [-] or any insane combination of those keys lol. Zooming out using two fingers on the mousepad doesn't work either.  Either way, I couldn't get it to zoom back out, so I went to ask my teacher and he tried doing the same things as me to zoom it back out, but couldn't get it to work either. Even after restarting my compu

Spring break cubing break through!!! Conclusion and reflection || Final episode of Road to Sub 4

Image
I feel...great? What lies in front of me in terms of schoolwork and grades is very scary, but right now....I feel great. Before Spring Break, if someone asked me what I average on 3x3, I would be lying if I said I was anywhere near sub-20. I would've said "23 seconds." During Spring break, I started practicing a lot of 3x3 after learning literally 5 algs. I just slowly started to get good, and I literally remember being super hyped when I would get anything sub-20. Today, getting a 19 second solve woudl be satisfactory but nothing deserving of a reaction I would have at the start of spring break. It's crazy because it's literally just a week that separates this. Here's my progression: The last screenshot was from a 300+ solve session from 4/9 to 4/10. It took 2 days and I brought my PB ao100 down by .5 seconds. That itself is motivation that every solve I do...I'm getting better. I'm gaining more intuition for F2L and better execution for my algs. MASSIVE 3x3 IMPROVEMENT... April 7th, 2022

Image
Just recently, I decided to randomly pick up my 3x3 again. Before, I did solves on it occasionally to the point where I averaged around 23 seconds I would say. However, during spring break, this is what I did: Reviewed all 4 G-Perms, as I did learn the algs but never made an effort to practice them Learned a new A-Perm as my current one is outdated Learned 2 new OLL algs as I embark on my journey for full-OLL. 57 cases to memorize and I already know around 10 of them Learned a couple better methods for some specific F2L cases Became somewhat white-yellow color neutral  As you can see, I improved all 4 aspects of CFOP. All of those things combined with literally 200 solves is enough for MASSIVE improvement. I can comfortably say that I average around 20 seconds, where sub-20 is very very very soon. Here's my improvement shown statistically. A new PB in literally everything except for the single. That 11.913 was an insane solve solely based on dumb luck. My best solve from yesterday&

Speed Wordle update

Speed wordle is becoming very fun. It's just such a chill game. Something about it is so satisfying lol. Anyway,  here's a clip  of me doing speed wordle. I believe I'm like a lot better now but that video is still pretty solid. Let's get into the strategies. Here's the ranking: This is from worst to best. Candy, sower, plumb, fight never seems to fail. It's so consistent and it's undoubtedly the best. I mainly use  https://tck.mn/speedle/  after wordleunlimited.com got bought off. It's a really good site.  As for the daily wordles, it's very fun to go on hard mode and start with "audio" Nothing much to talk about here. Squabble.me is the site to settle all the chatter and really show who's the boss.
