SAC Cubing XI Recap ||| First place in Skewb!

Image
Two days ago, 3/27/22, I headed to Sacramento for my first cubing competition in 2.5+ years. During those 2.5 years, I got super into the Skewb event. It kind of started when I saw that you had to get 6 seconds to podium in competitions back in the day, and I thought that I could do that. I know full Sarah's advanced, and 70% of NS algorithms to the point where any last-layer case is at most a 3-look in terms of combinations of sledge/hedges. Usually, I average around sub-4.1 at home, aiming to get a global mean of sub-4 for the past couple of months. My PB ao100 is sub 3.9 which is encouraging. SO anyway, I signed up for 2x2 and Skewb. I didn't sign up for 3x3 because that event was at like 8 in the morning which meant I have to wake up at like 6:00 since it's a 2-hour commute.  The venue was at a community center in Sacramento. It was pretty much just a super big and spacious room with round tables in the back and lots of chairs in the middle. In the front was all the com

Chime Presents: Colour Bass Vol. 3 | Album review

The Colour Bass Vol.3 came out on 1/28/22. I didn't follow the previous two volumes nor listen to them yet, but this album received tons of hype from au5 and chime and rushdown. I also listened to the  trailer  and I really liked some of the teasers. AND THEY DELIVERED. As the album name suggests, all of the songs are centered around  https://bassmusic.fandom.com/wiki/Colour_Bass#:~:text=Colour%20Bass%20is%20a%20subgenre,staple%20in%20modern%20bass%20music.  Quite literally changed the realm of edm and its limits. I hope to see colorbass take over NCS one day.  Here is my top 5 favorite songs from the album. There are 20 songs in the album so there are definitely gonna be snubs :( HONORABLE MENTIONS:  Chime - Cloud Factory Love the hook and design overall Inutillia - Quartzone, L.M. Amazing melody with a vibrant synth break. Would likely be #6 on this list Higher - Kaval Cool lyrics and melody, very solid song NUMBER 5 -  KERO - Radio Silence The synth break is unheard of. A swir

best wordle strategies

Image
Speed wordle is a pretty addicting game( https://squabble.me ). I hate how the school wifi blocked it after like 3 days. Anyway, pretty much the only way to optimise the game is to use a starting set of 4 words, that way you cover 4*5 = 20 letters with your first 4 guesses.  Here's an example. Sometimes this strategy is hit or miss. The word here is "triad." The starting set on the left covers it better than the starting set on the right STRATEGY #1 (worst) Dumps Whole Tangy Brick It's an ok strategy, but it's generally the worst and doesn't compare to the other two strategies. STRATEGY #2 and #3 Haven Jumpy Fritz Clogs (optional 5th word: dobra) Stead Flung Womby Chirp (optional 5th word: jazzy) I mainly use the "haven" strategy, but after hearing about this new strategy, I'm going to see if the "stead" strategy is better. I'll keep you updated. Here's a bonus strategy that I think coudl be the best out of all of this? STRATEGY

braces off

http://cavs4tw.blogspot.com/2019/10/the-story-of-my-hardshipsrevised.html Reflecting upon this post, I've realized how blissful my life was these past few years. For my eyesight, everything has been pretty average with little problems. For my teeth, I've had to wear rubber bands as this stage of my life closes. The last time I had teeth pulled out was back in 7th grade I think (I'm in 11th grade right now). My age catched up to the pulled-teeth number. ~~~~~~~~~~      Other than slight problems with my eye, I also had big problems with my teeth. My parents spent huge amounts of money on my teeth. Weird fact about me, I memorized the date I got my braces: January 14, 2013 Monday. It was raining, and when I got to school, we were playing heads-up-seven-up. DONT ASK ME WHY I REMEMBER THAT.  ~~~~~~~~~~ From "My story of my hardships," December 10, 2017 March 7, 2022 Monday. This time it's me driving on the highway to the dentist appointment with my mom. I arrive

Class of 2023 Prom

Image
Yesterday, 3/5/22 was Junior Prom for my school. I had high expectations coming into it...it was like 130 dollars. After heading to a park to take photos, we arrived at the school at around 4:30 and begin waiting in line for buses. We had to go through the Q building to verify our registration and afterwards, they begin counting groups of 30 people or something from the line to split between the buses which was kind of stressful since I coudl be split apart from my friends. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. On the bus, our chaperone told us to remember our bus name(ours was naple or something). We also had to write our name on a seating chart and the chaperone passed around hershey kisses which was super nice. I snagged two of the cookie and creme flavors.  During the bus ride, I played two player games with bog a couple of times. They also started playing some pop music(eg.= 24k magic, baby by JB, bad and boujee or whatever), and this guy named Mason got control over the bus mic

Goals and Mains for SAC Cubing XI /// First cubing competition in 2.5+ years

https://www.worldcubeassociation.org/competitions/SacCubingXI2022/registrations THE TIME HAS ARRIVED MY LAST COMPETITION WAS IN MAY, 2019. ITS BEEN OVER 2.5 YEARS. THE PAIN AND SUFFERING HAS ENDED AND A NEW ERA HAS BEEN REACHED. SACREMENTO is hosting their 11th competition. Registration opened on 2/28 at 4 PM and I was so lucky to know that before, as I was at my computer at 4 PM ready to register just in case...AND GOOD THING I DID THAT. There is a competitor limit of 125 people. There were 86 REGISTERED COMPETITORS AT 4:07 PM, 7 MINUTES AFTER IT OPENED. The cap filled up 20 minutes after it opened. If you tried to register after 20 minutes, then it would be full and you would be waitlisted. The competition has skewb, and I BELIEVE THAT THIS COMPETITION wont be  cancelled . GOALS I signed up for two events: 2x2 and skewb. I didn't sign up for 3x3 because it starts at like 9 AM and that means that I have to wake up at 7 AM since it's a 2-hour drive. By signing up for 2x2 and
