How the NBA playoffs could've changed with better officiating

BEFORE WE BEGIN I WANT TO SAY I AM NOT SALTY, OFFICIATING IS A HARD TASK.

If refs made the correct calls, then things could've changed.

GAME 6, Thunder vs Jazz
here's the clip

So basically with 22 seconds left, the Thunder were down by 3 points. Paul George clearly drew some contact, and the majority said that it was a foul, even the commentators. If they called a foul, an 84% career free-throw shooter would've probably made all three.

The game could've gone OverTime.
Thunder could've won OverTime
Thunder could've won Game 7.
Thunder could've beat the Rockets
Thunder could've beat the Warriors
Thunder could've won the championship.

lol. OBviously Thunder would've never beat the Rockets or the Warriors.

Anyway,

GAME 5, Cavs vs Pacers
here's the clip

This Game 5 was the game where LeBron James had that terrific buzzer beater. Before that buzzer beater though, LeBron James pinned the ball against the glass. Was it a block?

You guys can put it on slow mo yourself. It indeed hit the backboard first, then LeBron pinned it against the glass. That's called a goaltend.....and this is all coming from a cavs fan.

And with the Pacers up two, the atmosphere could've been entirely different. Sure, if LeBron James felt the EXACT SAME WAY, then that three would've still won them the game. But with this, Pacers could've totally won Game 5.

Pacers could've won Game 6/7
Pacers could've beat the Raptors
Pacers could've lost to the Raptors
Raptors could've beat the Celtics
Pacers could've beat the Celtics

And in total, if the first two statements were true, the Finals would be entirely different because Cavs would've never made the Finals.

Celtics could've beat the Warriors

GAME 1, Cavs vs Warriors
here's the clip

This was.....interesting. Everybody already knows about that JR Smith horror....but that wouldn't have happened if the refs had better officiating. A couple possessions earlier they called a blocking foul on LeBron James when it clearly was a charge. With that, the Cavs would've probably won the game.

And if they won, LeBron James wouldn't have been frustrated to punch a whiteboard and injure his hand.

With a healthy hand and a confident team, the Cavs could've won.

  1. Oof...rip Thunder
I don't think that was a goaltend because the ball was still in upward motion, not downward motion. Also it wasn't completely above the rim.
(btw I'm not a basketball genius, I just read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goaltending)
Yeah, looking at the clip, Lebron still stepped forward while blocking, so it should be offensive, not defensive.
    He self-injured his hand? Dang.

    1. Oh, the goaltending was definitely a goaltend.

      From the wikipedia article
goaltending is also called if the ball has already touched the backboard while being above the height of the rim in its flight, regardless of whether it being in an upward or downward flight or whether it is directly above the rim
