My top 100 2018(part 1)

Man this playlist came out like two weeks ago, but it's really hard writing reviews for even fifty songs lol sorry if this took a long time.

Congrats to everyone who made it to my top 50!

Ok Hi

this is a playlist spotify makes for you every year, and it's the top 100 songs you listened to the most. Order isn't too accurate, but is somewhat accurate.

I split it up into the first 50 and the second 50 for posts, so yeah.

You can go to 2018wrapped.com to see cool stats and stuff.

(NOTE: ACCORDING TO MY SISTER THIS IS SLIGHTLY INACCURATE IN SELECTION AND ORDER)

  1. Skyline – Kovan, Electro-Light-A wondrous, magnificent song. The bell synths, the subtle rises, the melody, the synth voice. I've said this over and over again... it's been in more than 15 ocs
  2. Thunderstruck – Owl City, Sarah Russell-Thunderstruck. Digital synths with analog syntsh. Sarah Russells vocals are definitely onpoint in this song, and needed. Owl City does a great job on everything, including the production. The background melodies are beautiful, along with the graceful vocals. Then it goes strong with the really loud, strong, and heroic synth pads as beats during the synth break. Adam hangs on certain notes for dramatic reasons. Great song, most played song of 2018
  3. Cloud Ten – Fareoh-Another great song. The top 5 have been in more than multiple ocs. Fareohis so good at his choice with synths and the beat. The synth guitar solo is really booming, sound like it has a message. Fareoh also fades the beat drop at a perfect scale and also has profession in his beat drop. Great transitions.
  4. Harvalien – LarsM-LarsM puts a subtle mood and synth voice in the beginning, and you barely notice the fades. The hollow organ synth is beaming, and just has great changes in volume. A great, melodic, and fun song.
  5. Make Me Move - James Roche Remix – Culture Code, Karra, James Roche-oh yes. I remember list-(ok no story time ill talk about it some other dya). Make me move(original) was literally asking for remixes, as it was so simplistic with barely any synths. Tobu tried, putting stutters in the vocals, but it was ultimately trash. Then james roche came out with this...

He basically changed the song entirely, and it's seriously incredible. The synth break, beat drop, i was in shock when first listening to this song. I really have no words to describe it, and is honestly too lazy to find words. The ending though...
  6. What I Said – Killercats, Alex Skrindo-Alex skrindo and killercats, two incredible musicians. They start the song off with a quiet whistle, setting the mood. The beat drop gets you moving, and its ultimately the synth break that appears the most. The loop loops, and i espeically love the "ah", as if you were drinking fanta as a transition. I find it funny. The synth break synth is chosen wisely and greatly. The vocals are questionable, but fit the song. The bridge of the song is so good, as the hollow synth just goes off on a wild solo, then to a "chorale." A synth lead is heard, an underused synth, which makes me happy of course.
  7. Everything – Diamond Eyes-Often considered one of the best male EDM vocalists of all time, Diamond Eyes sings with heart and the synth break is intense and not intense at the same time. The slight synth pads as a beat is a definite guide to the crazy, wild synth break. During the verses Diamond Eyes adds light drops. Diamond Eyes man, prob gonna be now my top 10 favorite artists. He later comes out with flutter, an insane song.
  8. Waves – Retrovision-Retrovision! He brings out the stress reliever with this awesome synth voice and thick synth pads. You can hear a bouncy digital synth in the background, and retrovision is making his retrovision things. He changes the melody in a beat drop, and you realize that this may be one of the songs where retrovision actually has a structure to a song, and I'm saying it like it's okay to have no structure to a song. The synth break sprays visually, and its probably the synth voice that is awesome. Retrovision man.
  9. Phototropic – Chime-Moving on to more intense, high-quality music. Chime literally slaps as a synth. It's weird, but nice. Chime works hard on this track, and comes out early with the slap-down and synth break. The synth break has a fast beat, snare, synth voice, and digital synth. Pure digital synth. The beat loses then comes back, something really I find interesting. Then the beat drop goes in circles and BAGN. WOAHH. He changes up the synth breka with nice little "breaks" and transitions. I relaly like the rise of wood synths at one point.
  10. Donuts – 2SCOOPS-The voice has a combination of catchiness, and satisfaction. It's a great track with a kind of repetitive synth break, but 2SCOOPS saves us with stutters and a change in pitch and octave.
  11. The Calling – TheFatRat, Laura Brehm-An intense and vibrant song that no one would've expected TheFatRat to make. It recently got stolen on YouTube, with nearly 50M views. Anyway, Laura Brehm sings those dark and intense easily, with mysterious lyrics to go along. The synth break adds on the suspense, with major fades and really has volume
  12. Divinity – Porter Robinson, Amy Millan-The synth liner and melody gets you moving, along with the strong, booming beat. It rises and falls, as Robinson, famously known for "Shelter", comes out with this melody. He acknowledges how this is the peak of the song, so repeats it a couple of times for satisfaction. He then cuts to the slow part, or chorale, or whatever you call it. He adds in side loops to catch you on guard, then Amy Millan comes in. This part gets..a bit boring, however, the ending makes everything worth it. Thsoe last words on the edge of her tongue is like the ending of Make Me Move James Roche remix
  13. Revival – Ahxello-A creative and clever way to introduce the song. Ahxello fades and rsies at the same time with an analog synth, then fades out and switches to a side-melody. The Beat Drop is nice, and so is the synth break, a happy and non repetitive summer tune. Ahxello soon skips into a this part, a solo with a jump synth that caught me.
  14. Complicated (feat. Kiiara) - Fareoh Remix – Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, Kiiara, Fareoh-One of the best beat drops of all time. Anyway, Fareoh(Cloud 10) remixes this simplistic song, reordering the vocals nicely. Ignore the lyrics BTW. The synth break mimics the vocals in a partial way and has great transitions.
  15. On Our Way - Kedmiri Remix – Jim Yosef, SideB, Q'Aila, Kedmiri-When I first listened to this song, the beginning line/solo really caught me out of my chair. It stood strong, and jsut went into the vocals without any fade, or at least none that I can hear. The bells for the remix is an excellent addition to remix, then Kedmiri just pumps out all types of tunes with all types of melodies. Geez that's good. Kedmiri also enhances both the synth break and the vocals, and speeds it up.
  16. Biscuit – Raven & Kreyn-Raven & Kreyn probably got the inspiration from Retrovision, as they literally repeat basically the same melody the ENTIRE song. Besides the beat drop, the synth break has a partial melody to it, and what would make this song better is if they added in a segment for a solo of this melody, with a nice, different synth. However, I love the synth pads in the background, transitions, and THE MELODY
  17. Mirage – Egzod, Leo The Kind-A big, high quality song with such intensity and just is so good. I don't understand how anyone is able to create a masterpiece like this, and Egzod even added in like solos, with wonderful beats and is just an amazing one. It fades and pans perfectly, and is just unspeakable.
  18. Darkside – Alan Walker, Au/Ra, Tomine Harket-Putting this song on 1.25 speed would make this song 100% better, which means that this song is pretty bad. If a song can be sped up or slowed down, and the entire song sounds better, ya know something is wrong. Anyway, Walker comes back with this nice track, with a great mood and great vocal.
  19. Puzzle - VIP – Retrovision-Very important person? Version improved? Idk it's like a second version that is probably better or something, not in a way where he adds in vocals or something. He changes in terms of stuttering, fading, synth breaking, instrument changing, panning, lead in synthing(lol), synth voicing, and beat dropping.
  20. Feel Again feat. Harley Bird – Culture Code, Harley Bird-I literally overplayed this song IMO, but I just liked the emotion and synth break in it, especially when Culture Code mixed up the synth break a little bit towards the end.
  21. Spectrum – Zedd, Matthew Koma-An old song by Zedd that I appreciate. It has a really nice melody and is one of the only songs I know that uses a synth pad as the melody. Zedd puts in lasers at one point and jams away.
  22. Summersong 2018 – Elektronomia-Another nice summersong created by Elektronomia with a happy tune and mains on stutters. A joyful tune and is solid.
  23. Skyward Bound – Itro, Kédo Rebelle-A nice background with birds chirping. It's one of the best songs with a good mood. The bouncy digital synths are great, and the vocals are calming and beaming at the same time. I really like the smooth transitions between loop to loop in this song, and it's that one song you need when you're sad. Calm and quiet synth break.
  24. Shelter – Porter Robinson, Madeon-Oh yes. Great song with a great melody. A synth voice is definitely perfectly chosen, and this song has a great beat, drop, and transition. The verse lets it become it's own, and the two pops as a transition is very creative. A very smooth song.
  25. Unbelievable – Owl City, Hanson-Great song with great vocals. Owl City pulls off a non love song song. WOW. The beat drop is the most noticeable and yet its queit. The lyrics are about the childhood, and the melody during the chorus is really a happy tune that makes me smile. Solid snare with a creative and incredible whistle transition. Good job to the producers and owl city on that one. Good bridge too
  26. Ruby – Jim Yosef, Alex Skrindo-Two of the most solid artists come together to form...A SOLID SONG. YAY. These two artists are legit just really solid. Great and sharp fades with a good balance on the melody. An incredible solo and incredible violin synths or whatever its called. Just a great and emotional EDM song.
  27. Fly – Marshmello, Leah Culver-A good beat and good melody. Well-named, as the feeling it gives you during the synth break is incredible. However, I have s erious hatred of Marshmello now after him becoming money hungry and joning the pop industry.
  28. Fast Lane – NIVIRO, PollyAnna-A decent verse that does not prepare you to the INSANE synth break. It catches you on your feet dancing and the clues are alll over, during the lead in. Although it's literally just aoround two notes in different pitches, it's incredible. A synchro nyce can be heard and it's literally just a great song with a great melody.
  29. Stronger – Lemon Fight, Jessica Reynoso-Many creative melodies with a good bassline and beat. Vocals are cool and can surely hit the high notes. No enhancements or auto tune is needed for this vocalist. Great beat drop, IMO one of the best beat drops. Nice transitions and a great synth break.
  30. Cake – Retrovision-It's getting hard to describe Retrovision, whose songs are all the same and different at the same time.
  31. Excision – Kevano-A direct synth break, and an interesting song. It begins in a adding fashion, adding in different loops after measures. An intense and suspenseful song and breaks the laws and layout of music.
  32. Tired - Kovan & Alex Skrindo Remix – Alan Walker, Gavin James, Alex Skrindo, Kovan-Tired was a great song, but the melody was complete utter garbotoxin. Great thigns added by two solid artists. Great synth break. They also add in an additional wave synth during the synth break.
  33. It's Only You – Skullclub, Philip Strand-Another direct synth break with a charming and incredible verse. Great mood during the lead in and literally the synth break is the thing to make me dance. No background synth is needed, as it distracts and drives the attention out.
  34. Stronger – Omar Varela, Xavi & Gi, Miss Lina-Reminds me of a school project I did one time... Great synth break with a good feeling and beat drop.
  35. Free – Elektronomia, JJD-A solid song with great melodies, especially the synth voice solo that gets extended.
  36. MAYDAY – TheFatRat, Laura Brehm-The best song I've ever heard with a synth lead as the synth break melody. It chimes and beams with such high notes that I can't even dream to hit. The organs in the background add mood and tension to this suspenseful and different TheFatRat track.
  37. You & I – Geoxor-Great fades throughout the song. A muffled tune is interesting, and so are the synth breaks. Overall a solid songs with great effects.
  38. Runaway (U & I) – Galantis-Josh recommended this song, and it's pretty good. Although the vocals could be better, the overall structure of the song is excellent, and i really appreciate the acknowledgement of a piano in this EDM song. The melody is catchy, and the beat drop is sudden and short. The synth break is uh ok.
  39. So Funky – NIVIRO-NIVIRO pulls off a Retrovision type track in this one, and it really is booming. There are really creative and strong synth pads in the background. The synth break is weird, and I really like how NIVIRO is trying all types of styles.
  40. Just A Dream – Kurt Hugo Schneider, Christina Grimmie, Sam Tsui-I really liked Christina Grimmie, but she had to pass away. This song was incredible, with great vocals, a great piano, and a great cover. She would be great for EDM.
  41. We Collide – MitiS-A slow song with great fades and a great tone. The synth break is dramatic with synth pads and is honestly a type of style I love.
  42. Wicked – John Kenza-A awesome tune and just a fun one with all the varies of synth voices. The beat drop and synth break are incredible, which adds to this song. Good beat also. The transitions add and the snares are onpoint.
  43. Just Hold On – Steve Aoki, Louis Tomlinson-A great song made by Steve Aoki and written by Louis. It's about her mother's death, and it has a good beat drop and synth break. Louis' vocals are fitting for this type of song, with added depth. Great tunes all around the song with some vocals that reach the top. Aoki adds in many effects and extra synths to make it sound better and more creative, along with the beat drop. Transitions and panning are all great, even the liner along the vocals. A hidden bell finishes off the song.
  44. Campfire – Retrovision-In this track, Retrovision tries out an analog synth, WHICH OF COURSE IS EPIC. A synth voice as a side melody is great, along with the piano! I love the focus into the notes at cretain points and Retrovision is incredible and the GOAT at creating loops. Great melody with great transitions.
  45. Seasons - Futuristik & Whogaux Remix – Rival, Cadmium, Harley Bird-A nice remix. A great mood set throughout the entire song with a great different synth break. A change in this remix in terms of the beat drop and just all the loops is awesome. It made it to NCS Alpha. The muffled synth voice is a creative way for a lead in during the beat drop. A catchy synth break lol.
  46. Tell Me – Killercats, Alex Skrindo-An old song but these two REALLY solid artists make a pretty much masterpiece. What happy song with a great guitar. The stacking method is fitting and the entire melody is great. The smooth synth pad is also incredible, and the entire songi s basically just perfect. Turning the song slower during the synth break is very ncie. Muffling is a classic transition, and has a great bridge. Very solid song.
  47. Epic – TheFatRat-A great, melodic song. Fades are slow and steady, and the melody is a happy tune. The verse is IMO the best from TheFatRat. The pitches of chords is just too good along with the bounce synth. Lovin' it. Great beat drop and tones. TheFatRat always keeps the song interesting with a nice loop and a nice bridge. Another very solid song that I thought would be higher on ths list.
  48. If I Lose Myself - Alesso vs OneRepublic – OneRepublic, Alesso-Meanwhile, this song should be way lower. I like this song, but I literally discovered this song in like November. HOW. Great loops all around the song and all
  49. Immortality - Futuristik Remix – Cartoon, Kristel Aaslaid, Futuristik-A fast paced "thriller". A great remix that I heard before the original. The transitions are great and is a very solid song with a really dancy synth break.
  50. Memes – NIVIRO-NIVIRO's creativity has never shined like this before. He brings in all sorts of wacky synths and somehow is able to combine them to make this song. The beat drop is great and so is the synth break.
Lyric(s) of the Post: MEMES!
