The Afterlife(Part Four)

Stunned by the promises broken based on the lack of bodies counted, Greninja needed to know which four individuals were missing.

"Shuppet! Tell me who isn't here!" Greninja demanded.

"I don't know," Shuppet responded. "My abilities can't do specific things."

"FINE, we'll have to do a roll call! Aipom..." Greninja began.

"So what happened to the Pokemon?" John asked.

"Since everyone else was in the tanks, we kept firing at our given target and they were forced to flee,"
John's mother replied. "However the mystery is where they are headed next. We need to know where the Pokemon are going to attack next in order to make peace with them."

As John was about to ask another question, the smoke became stronger and John felt his eyes in scorching pain. Through the tiny glimpses, he noticed that his hotel became very smoggy, and soon the walls caught on fire, triggering a fire alarm.

"JOHN!! GET DOWN," John's mother screamed quickly, blindly feeling her surroundings to try to find her son.

John saw the opening of the window and took his mother’s instruction to jump from the third story, landing on his back. Even with a broken spine from the fall, John still had the urge to stand up and lighten his mother's fall.

John and his family were surrounded by heat, smoke, and fire. As the ring of fire began to enclose around them, John lost hope, said his final words, and closed his eyes, hugging his mother in their final moments.

"Hey, that hydro pump is very effective," Jirachi said happily.

"Yeah, let's go check up on these people," Empoleon said.

"You're alive," Jirachi said. "Get up."

John and his mom were startled when pre-evolutions of Empoleon, Piplup and Prinplup, brought them up. At first relief and the feelings of a miracle hit them, then it was fear, as the Pokemon were thought of as enemies, but as soon as Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon, and Jirachi were teleported away without hitting them, John realized that there was a good to every bad, and a bad to every good. Piplup, Prinplup, Empoleon, and Jirachi all still had grief, sorrow, and forgiveness. Although they had faced isolation and were practically pets being forced into battle, they still understood the other side.
