The Best All-star weekend ever.

For me obviously it was, but historically I feel like this has to be the best.




FRIDAY:

All-star Celebrity game.

Not a really close game but it featured Steven A. Smith receiving the first ever technical in a celebrity game which I just gotta admit is really funny.


Rising-stars game.

A blowout by team USA but the half court buzzer beater from LUka Doncic was a real highlight and Zion Williamson bent the rim. It was a pretty solid game.



SATURDAY:


I love All-star Saturday.


Skills challenge.

The bigger player won every single round :O.

Last year Jayson Tatum sunk a half court to win it. That shot was really crazy.



But this year the finals was Bam Adebayo and Domantas Sabonis. It went head to head on the three point shot but Bam eventually made it and turns out that if he missed it Sabonis would've own as he made his three right after Bam sunk his.

Very entertaining skills challenge.




NOW THIS IS WHEN IT GETS FUN.


3-point contest.

Devin Booker is replacing Dame.

This time they added a "dew" shot, a shot from 30 ft that earned 3 points. I think 10 more seconds was also added to the clock.

Trae Young was a brick, Devonte Graham was a brick, and the only four good players was Zach Lavine, Bertans, Hield, and Booker. Lavine got 23 points and missed both mountain dew shots.

So the Finals were Bertans, Hield, and Booker.

Bertans started off bad and got 22 points. That wasn't going to win it but I was happy Bertans made the final round.

Then Booker exploded for 27 points, I thought that was going to win it.

SO now it's Buddy Hield. He misses so many of his first shots and misses both of his mountain dew shots...

But he positioned his money rack to be the last rack.

I literally thought it was over and Devin Booker would win but Hield started to catch fire and eventually made four of his five money balls on the rack to win it. ON the last shot Hield had 26 points, and that shot was a win or lose shot. Crazy. Very intense.







Dunk Contest.


We have a dunk contest of the ages. Dwight Howard doesn't make the finals but represents Kobe well.

THe Finals are Derrick Jones Jr and Aaron Gordon. Man those dunks are hard. Both players got two 50s and man I thought it was just a tie. Incredible dunks.

In overtime they repeat their dunk and they each get another 50.


Derrick Jones Jr. Dunks from a step inside the free throw line and Aaron Gordon dunks over 7'5 Tacko Fall.

But Aaron Gordon loses.

Aaron Gordon gets robbed again.

My goodness.
The dunk contest still went into so many overtimes though.






THE ALL-STAR GAME.

I was excited for this new format. There were basically four games in one.

Team LeBron and his starters were amazing as Kawhi went 4/4 from 3 pt and won the 1st quarter.

Then Team Giannis started going full-on tryhard mode in the reserves and won by 21.


Third quarter was a tie, as Rudy Gobert made the game-tying dunk.

With 2 seconds left Westbrook missed the game-winner.


Now the 100,000 dollars was going to get carried over to the 4th quarter.


As a Team LeBron fan it was hard to watch. Team Giannis got so many offensive rebounds.. However, Chris Paul got some jumpers and went sicko mode and set the stage for when the starters came back.


AND WE HAVE A COMPETITIVE GAME. BRO KYLE LOWRY WAS TAKING A CHARGE. THE PLAYERS WERE FUMING AT THE REFS CALLS! SO MANY FOULS WERE CALLED!

THIS ALL STAR GAME WAS SO FUN!!!

Embiid played well and Lowry flopped every god dang possession.

But eventually Anthony Davis made the free throw to win it and Kawhi Leonard is awarded the Kobe Bryant All-star MVP trophy. I don't think he deserved it as he started bricking and went 1-4 on his last five three point attempts. LeBron controlled the game and was consistent throughout the entire game. I don't really care honestly because Team LeBron got the dub!
