aight guys I literally didn't post at all during spring break and decided to post on the first day of school -_-.
SO what did I do during Spring Break??
Anyway every day at around 2:00 during spring break me and the bois would grind zombsroyale.io and boi man it's so fudging fun.
Anyway
I'm going to do a playlist review. Straight up the last one I did was XXII which was 7 playlists ago.
THis playlist is pretty special as I've discovered a lot of new songs that I really love.
- Dimensions – Last Heroes-This is a track by Last Heroes that features lots of wavy synths and reminds me of "mortals" by warriyo for some reason. It's a very intense song with very sharp beat drops. Very intense and emotional song filled with pride.
The beginning is like an orchestra-built symphony filled with electric violins. The subtle kick drum is everything and the pitch bending put into the strings creates a very sad start to the song. Every 4 bars of this beginning a wave comes in until everything builds up the kick drum gets faster there's a big moment of silence until the drum break hits and BANG. DIGITAL WAVY SYNTH MADNESS. INTENSE FADING AS TRANSITIONS. WHAT A STRONG BASS LINE FOR THE CORE AND THEN THE SYNTH PAD JUST GOES IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SYNTH BREAK. The bass just is too strong and wow it's like there's an abundnace of this craziness. It's so intense it's insane and bang everything quiets down and it's back to normal. The kick drum strikes, the bell comes back in, and the string comes in.
What a beautiful first synth break and this verse allows you to reflect and the violin boom it leads right into the start of the drop. Such a high-profile beat drop right here man. A big windy synth and before you know it everything stops. BOOM. THE SYNTH PADS JUST STRIKE IN WITH NO WARNING, NO FADE, NO LEFT TO RIGHT PAN. IT'S INSANE. THERE'S A DEGREE OF HOLLOWNESS IN THIS SYNTH BREAK. EVERYTHING RUMBLES AND CRUMBLES UNTIL THE FINAL KICK DRUM HITS AND EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL.
what an intense song. Beautiful instrumentation. - Keep You – Spektrum, Sara Skinner-Here is a song by Spektrum.
The song starts off with an analog synth lead and then we have the iconic NCS vocalist Sara Skinner singing in this track. There's a good amount of vibrato and range in this range. This first verse in my opinion acts like a set up. The drums and bass are very subtle and it's just to set up this beat drop. Vocal chops and distortion to help prep us for it. THE LEAD IN IS A VOCAL LINE AND THEN WE GOT THE SYNTH PAD MELODIC LINE AND BANG THE SYNTH BREAK COMES AFTER A QUICK PAUSE. BANG WHAT A STUTTER. THERE'S SO MANY MILLISECONDS OF SILENCE IN THIS SONG IT'S INSANE. A DIGITAL SYNTH SCRATCHY SYNTH COMES IN AND ACTS AS A TRANSITION. EVEN THROUGH ALL THIS THE KICK AND SNARE SITLL COME IN AND SARA SKINNER SPLITS THE TRANSITION. WE ARE BACK TO THE BELLS AND THE DISTANT TUNES FROM THE VERSE.
DO you see me falling? Sara Skinner's support vocals help make us feel this beat drop as the kick drum comes in at double time. There's many high notes in the background as this is the final verse. The setup for the beat drop is a quick moment for a drum break as Sara Skinner again splits the transition. The beat drop comes and Sara Skinner's vocals are drowned out by the impulsive synth pads. In the final synth break lots of vocal chops come in and we are confused but everything go backs to normal. The synth pads are back to shifting and the bass line is the motor for this entire song. Everything fades and cuts into a nice piano solo to finish. Sara Skinner suddenly sings in minor as this piano goes major creating a weird vibe for us all. and Everything fades awa,. - Glowing At Night – Jo Cohen, BQ-This song is one of my favorite songs in this playlist. It's just so catchy and man bro these vocal setups are something else!
The song starts off with Jo Cohen coming in with various degrees of falsetto and there's those support vocals with a tremendous amount of EQ to help support tihs entire track. The beat drop acts as a support for her vocals. The transition from the end of the drop to this chilling vocal chop synth break is insane. It's like everything lines up. The transition is intense panning and fading. The second verse starts off different with a dark support vocal you can hear if you focus. It's very intense and spooky but then as the crash comes back in her voice goes back to normal. and "keep me hanggiiing oooonnnn" is just a beautiful line man. Wow the synth voices in the back ground is just so good. I love this beat drop. There's a triplet line from the kick drum and the snare and then synth break is lined up by a latin pattern!! The kick and tom line up in that syncopated rhythm which I find very interesting. BQ uses a lot of snare beatings to finish off certain transitions. - There x2 – Slushii, Marshmello-This old track collabed my Slushii and Marshmello is OG days, back when Marshmello wasn't a money-sucking popstar :|
The song starts off with a eight note rhythm from the digital synths. Then Marshmello uses the clsasic stacking technique to help build structure in this song. The synth break is very complicated. There's lots of structures. Thre's the vocals acting as a transition then there's the scrathcy synth with a high amount of reverb to help line up the synth break. Then there's no bass line which an interesting move.
The second verse also has stacking with the analog synth coming in on the 8th bar. "will you be there 2x" is lined by lots of support vocals during the beat drop. There's lots of vocals in the background to help guide this beat drop and then in this second synth break the vocalist sings "woah" with waviness and in a simple tune. It's very refreshing and I love this idea that Slushii uses. The ending is done "one-directoin fashion" with this chorus from all these vocals. - Seasons - NIVIRO Remix – Rival, Cadmium, Harley Bird, NIVIRO-It starts off with Harley Bird, a vocalist I find very underrated. NIVIRO remixes this song by Rival, which is a track lots of artists like remixing. NIVIRO adds a snare line and speeds up the tempo of the song before changing up the entire synth break. There's an eight note bass line and there are vocals with high notes to support and the analog synth is the highlight of this synth break. Before you think you're entering the second verse a second mini drop comes in and you are back into this analog synth break. NIVIRO also uses the second verse as a quick guide and jump into the vocal shift in the second verse. Very creative and what a wonderful execution NIVIRO.
THere's a round of triplets and weird rhythms at the end of every line that is supported with the kick drum. After the third synth break is over there's a vocal solo with an intense amount of support in the second line. Then it's pure instrumentation and vocal chops as NIVIRO sets up a rumblin' beat drop.
The ending is something I very like. NIVIRO builds the chords and support through high notes but the main melodic phrase is from the vocal solo. - The Guardian of Angels – NIVIRO-NIVIRO loves creating these spooky songs and he starts with a nice minor chord progression. There's vocals and bells to create a spooky vibe. Then after this "IVE BEEN WATCHING YOU" Bang the listener is struck as this digital bell rocks back and forth from this reverb and this melodic phrase is haunted by lots of phrases of spookiness said by the vocals. The Beat drop is something incredible as there's just so many levels of stacking I can't explain with my words. The beat drop is pure analog synth, something that NIVIRO loves doing. He uses so many god dang analog synths in his synth breaks xD. In the second line of each melody he supports it with a big bass line.
The second verse is osmething very different. He has bells as the chords and straight up vocals as the melody with lots of triplets embedded. Then the nostalgic analog synth bumps in again for the beat drop too. There's vocal degrees and bang this beat drop I can recognize. There's just so much melodic tunes going on anywhere from the transition of this beat drop to the synth break. The drum rolls act as a transition support which is something NIVIRO randomly does. The song ends with the bass line striking and a fade in and out. - Wait For You – Electro-Light, Jordan Kelvin James, Anna Yvette-This track from Electro-Light and Kelvin james uses a lot of vocal chops. Anna Yvette is the iconic vocalist.
The song starts off with a digital synth set up and chords and a hi hat. It's very light and jumpy. Anna Yvette then goes one octave mode and bang we are at the mid-tier range. A nice little drum roll helps set up this insane synth break. There's a digital synth melody but also vocal chops to line up. I don't know how long this took but these vocal chops are heavily reverbed and they have lots of effects within them. Anna Yvette is perfectly on tune and even adds a bit of vibrato during these transitions. Anna is definitely the perfect vocalist for this song. The outro to this first synth break is a grand piano support as the vocal chops continue.
The second verse is very similar to the first except for the transition to the beat drop. Yvette uses a whole lot of falsetto then a synth lead comes in with a huge kick drum. Very unexpected, and the synth lead kills it! The beat drops comes in and the synth break is just so nice. It's very chilling and relaxing in a way even though it is built through vocal chops. Electro-Light also makes this acid bass VERY VERY loud which is questionable. It's not too noticeable tho. Everything fades out to the outro of this grand piano. - The Labyrinth – NIVIRO-Here's another track from NIVIRO
The vocalist comes in with a pick-up and the rhythm overall involves lots of driplets xD. Within 40 seconds of the song the beat drop hits and a analog synth -_- comes in as the melodic line which is supported with rotating synth pads. Vocal hits come in with a big bass drum to transition to this second verse, and of course NIVIRO doesn't like repeating verses. There's lots of echo in these vocals and harmonization in this transition to the beat drop. This clock tick drum is everything in order to set up this intense beat drop. Everything fades there's a lser effect. Lots of pitch bending. UPSIDE DOWN BANGBANGBAMGBA. WOW THE SYNTH BREAK COMES IN IN A WHOLE NEW KEY. BANG HERE COME STHE ANALOG SYNTHS AND THE FADE OUT TO THE TRANSITION OF A DIGITAL SYNTH SOLO AND IT FADES BACK IN. NIVIRO really took us on a journey in this track. - Turn It Up – Tobu
Here is an old song from Tobu I like. It uses a very creative melodic concept and is overall a simple song.
I love this beat drop and bang man this synth break hits. There's not many layers which makes it so special. This synth lead just strikes with this pitch bend and the octave changes are everything that makes it sound so nice. The growls are a creative filling for these breaks.
Tobu uses this same melodic concept in the verse and he sets up the beat drop very quickly with a quikc round of kick drums. The beat drop comes and the synth break is back. What a vibe! The kick drum and snare drum rotate so well and it's just such an incredible synth break. The outro is very well constructed with these chord progressions from the bass. If you don't like bass there's a very high chance you won't like this song. Before you think the song is over the melodic phrase comes back in and everything pitchbends flat and it fades out and the song is over. - Whole - Rob Gasser Remix – Chime, Rob Gasser-Chime uses a lot of digital synths and creative little attitudes to make a very low and high song at different points. The vocals are great and the beat drop is very creative. I love the rotations between the distortion and the natural voice. Well executed.
The synth break involves lots of wacky rhythms with the digital synth and the beat is nothing but great.
The second verse has the same tune but different lyrics and structure. The vocalist really hits these high notes during the beat drops and this is the definition of well-executed. Just such a consistent track with these distortions and leveling.
The outro involves a simple synth chord progression with lots of distrotion and I'm sure they slid the reverb slider to max because it is heavily reverbed. The song fades out.
