Cubing Update 7/18/22
Last time I made a cubing post was in like early June where I went to Mill Valley.
What have I done since ?
1. Improve my skewb global average to around 3.6 seconds. Broke PB's in every category besides my 0.94 single. Learned 4 new algs, but the improvement mainly came from practice and better recognition.
2. Grind A LOT of 3x3. I did a lot of 3x3 on the bus on EuroTrip 2022, and when I came back and had one week at home, I WAS A BEAST. I learned around 20 new OLL algs I would say and definitely solidified my PLL. Along with that, I tracked and improved different F2L cases. This brought my new global mean of around 16.5 I would say. Although my official average of 5 is 15.59 on the WCA, my improvement is evident through my 3x3 PB Single progression. I got a 10.50 solve using my phone twisty timer app to time on a bus in czech during EuroTrip. Then when I came back, I SHATTERED my PB with a 9.04 FULLSTEP SINGLE. Although the OLL was a sune and PLL was just a U-Perm. Combined with efficient cross/f2l solutions and that's how I got my first sub-10 time.
I want to continue to go to cubing competitions and hope to get lucky and get a sub-3 skewb average, along with improving my 3x3 times officially. Sub-13 average would be very cool, but that's very hard to do and will take some time.
As for other events, I haven't been putting much time into 3x3 BLD, even though I should. I wanna get an official success one day. I mainly just do 3x3 and skewb. One day I'll retire skewb and move on to 2x2 or something idk. 2x2 has a ton of algs tho.
Lyric(s) of the Post:
"Cuz I'm losing my mind
Spending every day thinking about you
And all of the time
I'm wondering just what you wanna do
Cuz I'm losing my mind"
