Another writing prompt that I have to do

Describe one or two of your favorite topics or subjects in science or math, and describe how you became interested in those topics. 200 words

Alright. This has to be prealgebra.

This was the summer of 4th-5th grade.

My sister was a tremendous teacher. Every day we would watch aops videos and then do alcumus on it. Richard's teaching was what made math fun. He explained it in a way that wasn't boring. He added fun to his videos, his solutions, and his problems. I remember LOVING  his ratios video. Richard even made up this funny character called "dan" which was basically just him in a hoodie. Anyway, after watching these videos, my sister and I would work on Alcumus. It was such a great learning source. I took Alcumus a little too seriously, crying every time I would get a problem wrong. I was SO obsessed over the achievements, that my sister designed an "achievement day," basically every Wednesday. On Wednesdays I would have two windows open, one holding the exact time in seconds, and another holding my alcumus problem. I would wait for the seventh minute of something or 13:37. These were alcumus achievements. There were more, easier achievements such as "input richard as an answer to a problem" or "42." Over this summer, I had mastered everything in Prealgebra. I was ready to tackle Algebra after. In my opinion, this was what got me into AoPS. Not beast academy, it was my sister's teachings. Then I got addicted to the forums. I got addicted to accumulation and temporal quadratic blackjack. This addiction would go on for TWO YEARS. http://cavs4tw.blogspot.com/2017/06/my-addiction.html

I obviously quit accumulation, cuz it was creepy the amount of time I was putting into a stupid counting game.
